One day, their ginger cat alerted them to another cat at their front door.
A new arrival
It was a small, female stray. The family who found her didn't know what to do. But they knew one thing: it was freezing cold outside, and the little cat was frozen.
She couldn't have survived on her own. So, they decided to bring her into their garage to warm her up. They kept the stray cat separate from their other pets while they contacted local rescue centres.
A surprising adoption
Then, just as their cat had pointed out the unknown cat at their door, he decided to take the introduction a step further. He started trying to play with her by poking his little paw under the door. The two cats began to play together, separated only by the door! Clearly, they were meant to be friends.
Finally, once the quarantine period was over, the family decided to open the door and let the two cats play together properly. That's when they realised just how "smitten" their cat was with the little female. He would seek her out and wanted to sleep close to her... The two quickly became inseparable.
Years later, the two cats are still the best of friends, and their touching story is delighting people online. One person commented: "An inseparable ginger cat couple. Oh my..." Another wrote: "He's making biscuits for her. I'm going to cry." We couldn't agree more, what an adorable story!
