Julia Zupan, 25, from Cincinnati, Ohio, in the USA, started volunteering regularly at the Cincinnati Animal Care shelter because she couldn't have a dog of her own at the time.
So, she made a habit of taking the dogs out for walks and day trips, giving them a chance to enjoy some fresh air and have a lovely time.
A special day out
It was on one of these outings that Julia met Margot, a rescue dog with a very mysterious past. During their day away from the shelter, Julia spent a lot of time with the sweet dog, who didn't hesitate to curl up for a nap on her lap.
A forever decision
Affectionate and gentle, Margot quickly won the volunteer's heart, and Julia decided she couldn't take her back to the shelter. It was a decision made from the heart, and it couldn't have turned out better. Today, Margot and Julia are inseparable and have settled into their new life together.
