A veterinary nurse moved heaven and earth to save the life of a one-year-old disabled dog.

A one-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog named Benji was very nearly put to sleep simply because he was disabled. But that was before a dedicated veterinary nurse, Madison Ellis, moved heaven and earth to save him.

The 27-year-old, who runs the TikTok account “megamindonwheels”, has completely transformed his life.

A difficult start

After being rescued, Benji ended up at the veterinary clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, where Madison works.

Described as “gentle, loyal and affectionate”, Benji was unable to walk and was incontinent. As reported by Newsweek, the veterinary clinic did everything they could to get him back on his feet, but to no avail.

The situation was so concerning that the clinic considered putting the poor dog to sleep, believing he would be too difficult to rehome.

A new lease of life

But Madison couldn't bear to let that happen. She decided to contact a company that could create a custom wheelchair for Benji. In no time at all, the little dog was completely transformed.

He now plays with other dogs, goes to the beach, and loves a game of ball. Thanks to Madison's determination to save him, Benji is now living his best life.
