Citlalli Jocelyn Vázquez Mercad, a volunteer with the Mexican organisation Defensa Nacional de Lomitos, went to a local neighbourhood to help a mother dog and her puppies.
She was immediately struck by one of the pups in particular. While his brothers and sisters had black-spotted coats, this little one was completely grey.
An unusual-looking puppy
After bringing the little family to safety and giving them a good meal, the whole gang was able to get some rest.
But it wasn't until the next morning, when it was bath time, that the grey puppy revealed a wonderful surprise to the volunteers.
The family finds their forever homes
It turned out the “grey” puppy was actually a brilliant white underneath all the dirt! His first bath was shared on social media, and the video helped to shine a spotlight on the family, who were all soon adopted.
