The rescuers arrived at the scene as soon as possible. The little chap was hiding in front of a car dealership.
It was still very early, so the shop wasn't open yet.
A bit of confusion
Suzette and Mary settled in to observe the little dog's "strategy". As soon as the first customers arrived at the car dealership, the dog began following them one by one. It looked as though the dog was mistaking them for members of his family...
The rescuers were heartbroken watching the dog, later named Rollie, circling around the unsuspecting customers. The person who had been leaving food for him told the rescuers that the dog would run away as soon as anyone approached, so they set up a trap cage.
First setback
Sadly, the noise of the trap cage really frightened Rollie and he ran off. However, he didn't go very far and kept circling around. He continued following customers, looking at them questioningly, as if asking them: "Are you my family?"
The rescuers decided to change tactics. Mary approached the little dog and began speaking to him affectionately. After a while, Rollie allowed himself to be stroked. Mary was then able to pick him up in her arms and carry him to the car. The rescuers took Rollie straight to the veterinary clinic, where he's been resting ever since. For now, the little chap is looking for his perfect family, and we wish him all the best in finding them soon!
