On 23rd October, she had no idea that her puppy had got out of the house.
Unsupervised?
The little dog had managed to escape somehow. In the camera footage, you can see the tiny Shih Tzu puppy on the porch. Suddenly, the postman arrives to deliver the mail, and the little puppy starts wiggling his entire body with joy at seeing this visitor.
The postman gives him a gentle stroke, then carries on with his round. But for the little puppy who hasn't had enough cuddles, the best idea is to follow the postman on his mission. You can see him dashing after him as fast as his little legs will allow...
Making a decision
The postman stops and looks around. He hopes that the dog's humans are nearby so they can collect the puppy. He's worried that the puppy will follow him and wander too far from home. It's a real dilemma for him, as he has to carry on with his work whilst at the same time, he can't let the little puppy follow him at the risk of getting lost.
People on Instagram watched the scene with fascination, as shown by the 2.3 million views on the video. For them: "The puppy fits in my pocket, the puppy comes with me!" Or: "The puppy doesn't realise his job is to bark at the postman."
Several users weren't surprised by the puppy's willingness to leave with a stranger: "My Shih Tzu has already tried to leave with a delivery driver. He got straight into her car and refused to get out." One thing's for sure: this postman must have really enjoyed that moment of his round!
