A heartbreaking wait
In Los Angeles, USA, Suzette Hall and Rosario Ortiz were contacted to help a stray puppy. As reported by The Dodo, the little dog had been wandering the streets for several weeks.
"It was heartbreaking to see her like that," said one of the local residents who eventually contacted rescue organisations. "It was as if she had an appointment she didn't want to miss. She would stay in the same spot for hours, her eyes fixed on the horizon."
The professionals believed that the little dog, Luna, had likely been abandoned. Her rescuers had to show incredible patience, using food and gentle voices to make her feel safe.
A new beginning for Luna
Once she was safe, the timid dog disappeared, replaced by a bubbly personality.
A trip to the vet revealed she was underweight and suffering from a few minor infections.
Today, Luna is no longer searching for her family. She has found them. Adopted by a couple who fell in love with her story, she now spends her days taking long naps in the sun and getting all the cuddles she could ever want.
