Mrs Agnieszka had just moved into her new home in Iwonicz Zdrój, Poland.
While tidying the garden, she heard strange squeaking and cat meows coming from the property near the river. Worried, she took her 17-year-old son to investigate.
A black plastic bag in the water
The situation turned out to be dramatic. A black plastic bag was drifting in the water, and the meowing was coming from inside it. Mrs Agnieszka's son went down the bank to the river and retrieved the bag. Inside was a black and white kitten suffering from hypothermia.
She took it home and wrapped it in a towel.
It turned out to be a second cat, wrapped in a damp cloth and plastic film.
Police complaint filed
Mrs Agnieszka immediately went to the police station and filed a complaint. Unfortunately, it's uncertain whether the perpetrator who abandoned the cats can be found, as there's too little information about the man who threw them into the water.
Meanwhile, the kittens were taken to the vet. They're in good health and their lives are not in danger.
A new home for the kittens? No longer needed!
The two tiny kittens, about two weeks old, still need care. And they'll receive it, as they'll stay with the family who found them. Although Mrs Agnieszka already has five kittens, she's decided that the two little ones will remain with them.
