Bruno is deaf and his parents have adapted to communicate with him.
They say the word "walkies" in sign language.
Learning to adapt
The couple didn't know the puppy was deaf when they adopted him. It was after a few days living with them that they began to have doubts. A visit to the vet confirmed that Bruno was deaf. The couple already knew sign language, as both of Daniel's parents are deaf. Bruno quickly understood his humans' language, mastering the signs within the first few months.
The pooch always has an adorable excited reaction when he understands he's going for a walk. So his humans filmed the scene and shared it on social media.
Pure excitement
In the video below, you can see Daniel signing "walkies" to Bruno in British Sign Language. Bruno starts wagging his tail and barking with excitement. He always reacts the same way to this sign. As well as understanding the sign for "walk", Bruno also knows the signs for "give paw", "stay", "lie down", "stand up", "turn around", "spin" and "play dead".
In fact, his humans say Bruno is more excited about getting ready for the walk than the walk itself. Sometimes he stops dead in his tracks before going out because he wants to go back to the sofa!
