At around 5:20pm, a green Renault Clio pulled over suddenly, despite heavy traffic in both directions.
The driver stepped out with a German Shepherd, tied him to a roadside post, and sped off without a second glance.
Witnesses step in to help
Another driver, who saw everything unfold, stopped to help the dog. And he wasn't alone. Staff at the nearby Gray SPA animal shelter also saw the incident from their building, just metres away.
The shelter team rushed out, brought the frightened 18-month-old dog to safety, and began providing care. The young dog, now named Falco, appeared traumatised and confused.
Legal action underway
Fortunately, the car’s number plate was recorded, and a formal complaint has been filed with the local police. Falco will receive full veterinary treatment and, once ready, will be put up for adoption.
The shelter hopes justice will be served and that Falco will soon find the loving home he deserves.
Good luck Falco!
