On the 19th of February, two dogs named Maya and Jagger arrived at the shelter.
Maya is a female German Shepherd and Jagger is a Labrador cross.
Senior dogs
The two dogs are 12 years old and had spent their entire lives with their owner. Sadly, their owner passed away in February, and the family could not find anyone to look after the dogs. As a result, they were brought to the Miami Dade Animal Shelter.
When they arrived at the shelter, the two siblings were very distressed. They were grieving for the person who had loved them and whom they had known their whole lives. Overnight, Jagger and Maya found themselves in a shelter, with no idea what the future held for their golden years.
A helping hand
The rescuers were heartbroken for the dogs and posted their sad story on TikTok. Thanks to the power of social media, Sniff N Go Rescue, another shelter in Miami, offered to take Jagger and Maya in. They pledged to find them a loving and comfortable foster home for their senior years.
The rescue team will do everything in their power to find a forever home for the two dogs. They need a stable and loving environment. We hope that Maya and Jagger will be adopted together and can soon settle down in their forever family.
