Krissy already had several dogs in her life, but as a passionate animal lover and welfare advocate, she knew there was room for one more.
She had always adopted from rescue centres, but on this particular occasion, it needed to be just the right candidate.
A very special request
Upon arriving at the shelter to adopt her new dog, Krissy asked the staff to show her the oldest dog in the shelter.
The team were surprised and touched by the unusual request. They took her to a kennel and introduced her to Jackie, a 12-year-old black Labrador mix who was in desperate need of a new home.

Without hesitation, Krissy decided to embark on this wonderful adventure with the sweet crossbreed, with only one goal in mind: To offer Jackie a dream life that would make her forget this sad period in kennels.
She announced her adoption story in a video, hoping to convince viewers to adopt the shelter dogs nobody else wants. With over 3 million views, Jackie's story touched hearts around the world.
She now lives in a wonderful house with a garden, and spends her days enjoying cuddles, her comfy bed and the company of her canine siblings.
