A new royal drama is brewing on the horizon, and the late monarch's adorable dogs are at the heart of the storm. An explosive battle within the royal family is now imminent.

The British royal family generally strives to keep conflicts away from the public eye. But if Charles III puts this plan into action, a real bombshell could explode.

The British King is said to be firmly determined to take back his mother's beloved corgis from his disgraced brother Andrew (65), the late Queen's former favourite son. An explosive battle is therefore on the cards!

Another blow for Andrew!

Andrew, the former prince, is experiencing a 2025 full of upheaval. He first had to relinquish his official titles, then agreed to leave his residence, the Royal Lodge. But the humiliations don't stop there!

A new report is shaking the palace walls and reveals a deeply personal conflict between King Charles III (77) and his younger brother.

British journalist Rob Shuter revealed on his blog (via Us Weekly): "King Charles is preparing to remove Queen Elizabeth's beloved corgis from [the former] Prince Andrew, as he no longer believes his disgraced younger brother is capable of looking after them."

The King is "deeply concerned"

These are Muick and Sandy, the two four-legged companions who remained by the Queen's side until the end and who found a home at the Royal Lodge after her death, with Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (66), nicknamed "Fergie".

Shuter quotes "distressed palace insiders" who claim the King is "deeply concerned" about "the deteriorating situation at the Royal Lodge". Charles reportedly wants a "more stable home for his mother's dogs – and better judgement around them".

Charles wants to reclaim the dogs as "Crown heritage"

Particularly stinging: Andrew and Fergie's departure from the Royal Lodge – and the fact they will be living separately afterwards – has reportedly heightened Charles's concerns.

An insider reveals to the outlet: "Her Majesty [Queen Elizabeth] loved Fergie, but she was ruthless when it came to protecting those dogs. She would never have wanted them to be left alone with Sarah – and Charles knows that better than anyone."

According to Shuter, the King is already exploring "official channels to reclaim the corgis as 'part of the Crown's living heritage'".

Is a royal showdown looming?

But Andrew is fiercely opposed to this plan! The former Duke of York is said to be anything but pleased with this request. Shuter wrote: "Andrew, however, is flatly refusing, creating what insiders fear is a genuine royal showdown – with two corgis at the centre."

It remains entirely uncertain whether the palace dogs will actually return to the Crown's possession or whether Andrew will be allowed to keep them with him.
