June had spent her entire life with her family before being given up early last year for being “too much”.
Confused and heartbroken, she cowered in the corner of her kennel, overwhelmed by the noise and chaos of shelter life.
Distressed and confused
“She couldn’t understand where she was or why this was happening,” said Isabella Sance, founder of Stacy Hope Rescue.
Moved by her distress, a volunteer took the Husky into foster care, where she flourished. With space to run, affection from humans, and the companionship of another dog, June began to rediscover her playful spirit.
“She turned into a completely new dog,” Sance said.
Huskies are often given up due to their high energy and specific care needs. June’s story, while heart-wrenching, highlights the importance of choosing pets wisely and the potential for second chances.
Second chance at happiness
June has now been adopted by a family with two other huskies, where she’s thriving.
“She will never be abandoned again,” Sance assured.
June’s tail is wagging once more and this time, for good.
