During a visit to Canterbury, the Queen revealed she had recently adopted an eight-week-old rescue puppy named Moley.
The lively pup, believed to be from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, was born on Boxing Day.
"A bit of everything"
Speaking to a partially sighted museum group while stroking a guide dog, Camilla shared that Moley "looks just like a mole."
When asked about the breed, she responded: "A bit of everything. It's a rescue dog." Moley's mother is thought to be half Jack Russell, but her father's breed remains a mystery.
Beth, one of Camilla’s cherished Battersea rescues, sadly passed away due to an untreatable tumour. The palace announced her death in a heartfelt social media tribute.
Royal pups
Moley now joins Bluebell, Camilla’s other Jack Russell from Battersea, in the royal household. The Queen has long championed animal welfare and has been a patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home since 2017.
Her love for dogs remains evident, with her four-legged friends often accompanying her on engagements:
