What started out as the sweetest scene took an unexpected turn, when Lisa realised it was what was inside the flower that had caught her dog's attention.

At first glance, Lisa was convinced her 10-year-old German Shepherd was happily admiring a bumblebee that had settled on some flowers in her garden.

The senior girl looked very content, as if she were contemplating the marvels of nature.

A premeditated plan

It was only a matter of seconds before everything changed, and Lisa saw a different side to her four-legged friend.

"I thought my 10-year-old German Shepherd was being sweet watching a bumblebee", she explained, sharing a clip of the scene to Instagram.

"But it was premeditated murder".

The video shows the German Shepherd standing totally still as she watches her prey, and then calming stretching forward to take the bumblebee in her mouth.

"She's done this before"

The video, which has now been viewed over 1,000 times, has received comments from dog lovers around the world.

"She's done this before", wrote a viewer, referring to the speed and skill of the cunning Shepherd.

"Not the spicy sky raisin", joked another.

"Mine does this too", explained a fellow owner. "Flies, bees, grasshoppers, dragonflies. She also eats them if she finds a dead one".

While the clip itself had many people smiling, others warned of the dangers of allergic reactions from stings.
