Anette Collins, who was out walking her two dogs, Izzy and Ginny, was hit by a man riding an electric bike while crossing a zebra crossing.
CCTV footage shows the terrifying moment Ms Collins was struck, sending her “flying” into the road.
Shocking hit and run
Despite the seriousness of the crash, the cyclist remained at the scene for just 22 seconds before riding away, leaving Ms Collins bleeding on the ground.
The 57-year-old suffered a sprained ankle, extensive bruising, and cuts that later required a tetanus shot after becoming infected.
Nervous crossing roads
She has since spoken out about the lasting impact the incident has had, saying she now feels nervous and anxious whenever she crosses a road with her dogs.
Ms Collins’ experience serves as a stark reminder for dog walkers and pedestrians alike to stay alert, even when using marked crossings, as incidents involving electric bikes and scooters become more common in London.
Despite the incident being captured on CCTV, police have so far been unable to trace the rider involved.
