Senior black English Cocker Spaniel mix

Visitors stop by this shelter dog, but soon leave when they learn his age

Jason, an adorable and affectionate English Cocker Spaniel mix, is struggling to find some one to adopt him, all because of one thing.

Although visitors to the shelter frequently stop by to see him, they are always put off from adopting him due to his age.

Too old for adopters

Jason is 11 years old and while the English Cocker Spaniel mix is no longer a young pup, he is still in good health and has plenty of life left.

He's a lovely, calm, playful dog who would make a great companion. But his age continues to deter visitors, leaving him increasingly restless.

Search for a new home

Jason came to the Un Gîte Une Gamelle shelter in 2023 after his elderly owner moved into a retirement home and could no longer care for him. He is used to a quiet home life filled with affection and treats, so the noisy shelter is not ideal.

Ideal adopters for Jason would be those with a quiet home and a garden. They should also be able to provide regular walks to keep him active. Despite his age, Jason's loyalty and affectionate nature make him a deserving candidate for a loving home.

The shelter hopes that someone will recognise Jason's value and offer him a chance to live out his remaining years in comfort and love. We do too!
