A couple of years ago, sisters McKenna and Kerrigan were looking at adoption profiles online when they came across Rosie’s ad.
Rosie was a large, beautiful Lab mix. But what struck the girls the most was what was written beneath her photos: “Without an adoption commitment, she will die in the shelter.”
Shelter dog disappears from view
The girls immediately fell in love with the dog and desperately wanted to save her. But by the time they had spoken to their parents about her, the online profile showed that Rosie was no longer available. The girls’ hearts dropped. They knew at that moment what had happened to their beloved dog.
What they didn’t know was that their parents were preparing a wonderful surprise for them! They had already adopted Rosie and she was on her way to them!
Girls surprised with adopted dog
On the day she arrived (which, coincidentally, was also the day she was scheduled to be put down), McKenna and Kerrigan’s mum surprised the girls in a park. When they turned around and saw Rosie before their very eyes, they couldn’t believe it! The tears immediately started to flow.
Since then, thanks to the kind hearts of two wonderful little girls, Rosie has been an integral part of the family. She’s the best dog the family could’ve ever hoped for! And the love is definitely mutual.
