On 1 August, Jumper was brought to the Canin Lotois shelter after being found living a grim existence locked in a cellar.
Severe neglect
During his year-long imprisonment, Jumper endured severe neglect, including a complete lack of water. When French police intervened, Jumper's condition was so dire he was close to death.
Immediately following his rescue, Jumper was taken to a veterinary clinic where he was treated for multiple serious conditions. He was emaciated, anaemic, and infested with parasites. Additionally, he suffered from cystitis and prostatitis.
Jumper received urgent care with antibiotics and is undergoing further medical tests to assess his recovery.
Fresh start for Jumper
At the shelter, Jumper has been given a warm, comfortable space and receives close attention from caregivers. Although his situation is distressing, Jumper is not alone. Three other dogs from the same location are expected to join the shelter soon.
With the shelter already at capacity, Canin Lotois is seeking potential adopters in and around Occitania in south France to help make room for more needy animals. They hope that during the summer months, people will come forward to offer loving homes to these vulnerable dogs.
We hope Jumper soon finds a forever home that will give him all the love and care he deserves.
