Retiring fire rescue dog Frankie bid farewell with an emotional guard of honour from firefighters at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.

The seven-year-old Belgian Malinois served diligently with the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team since 2018, becoming the region's first full-time search and rescue dog.

Rescued as a stray in Ireland, Frankie received rigorous training, amassing invaluable skills under the guidance of Watch Manager Steve Carr.
