A loving Rottweiler has the cutest way of showing how much she loves her baby human brother. And it ended up saving the young boy's life.

Two-year-old Daisy the Rottweiler isn't just in love with her brother. She's obsessed with him. The super sweet and super-protective pooch follows him absolutely everywhere.

And we mean everywhere. After another hard day of playing and generally having the best time ever, Daisy snuggles up next to her favourite human in his bed. Then she wraps herself around him to make sure he's always safe and warm.

Where he goes, Dasiy goes

How cute is that? "She's his shadow," said Brittany Troilo, Daisy's mum. "She sleeps beside him every night. She can't get enough of him."

But Daisy isn't there just to look cute - although obviously she's amazing at that! She also has a very important job to do. Her little brother has type 1 diabetes, and Daisy can tell when his blood sugar is too low.

And when Daisy sniffs out some danger, she wakes mum up to let her know there's a medical emergency. She's literally saving the little boy's life.

"If his sugar is high or low in the middle of the night, she comes and wakes me up so I can tend to him," said Daisy's owner. "She's very smart. She's a special girl."

Diabetic assistance dogs

Diabetic alert dogs (DADs) support individuals with diabetes by detecting changes in body odour when blood sugar levels are abnormal. Trained to bark, nudge, or fetch specific items, they alert their handlers to take necessary actions for hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia. These loyal canines also offer emotional support and companionship, improving well-being.

Specialised training takes months to years, and only certain dogs with the right intelligence and temperament are suitable for the role. But being the clever girl Daisy is, she figured it out all on her own. What an incredible dog!
