Luna, a four-year-old German Shepherd, found herself in a precarious situation just 24 hours after being purchased by her owner.
Lost or abandoned?
The saga unfolded when Luna, initially considered a runaway, was brought to the Cologne-Bergheim animal shelter. However, what followed was far from the usual lost-pet scenario.
Luna's owners swiftly contacted the shelter not to rejoice in her safe return but to relinquish ownership of the dog they had bought just a day before.
Described by the shelter as a "bad purchase," Luna's former owner wasted no time offloading her onto the facility, saying they were dissatisfied with her. Despite the shelter's disbelief at the situation, they are relieved that Luna is now under their care and are actively seeking a loving and permanent home for her.
Dream dog
Described as a "real dream dog" by shelter staff, Luna is sweet-natured, friendly, and enjoys outdoor activities. Staff are confident that Luna's stay at the shelter will be brief.
After the shelter shared Luna's story, outrage and disbelief spread across social media. Many people expressed dismay at the circumstances surrounding Luna's abandonment. However, despite the disappointment, there remains hope that Luna will soon find herself in the loving embrace of a forever family, courtesy of the diligent efforts of the Bergheim animal shelter.
