The owners of the 10-year-old Corgi, called Munchkin, wanted the vet to put the dog to sleep not because of any health issues but to make space for a new puppy!

Fortunately, the vet, shocked that the couple wanted to put their healthy dog down, urged them to hand it over to a shelter for rehoming.
A Home 4 Spot took Munchkin into their care. The shelter shared Munchkin’s story, hoping it would attract potential adopters prepared to overlook the dog’s age and embrace her loving and sweet nature.
Thankfully, Michele Padilla came forward to adopt Munchkin and give him the home he deserves. His good health and loving nature left her confused that someone would want to put him to sleep, and she urged more people to consider adopting older dogs.

Since adopting Munchkin, Michele has set up an Instagram account to share the pup’s journey. She has become a passionate advocate against euthanising pets unless they are suffering and urges people to hand them over to local shelters instead.
Additionally, she encourages responsible pet ownership, stressing the importance of considering affordability and care before adopting.
