Captioned with "Beagle showing his authority," the footage showcases the pint-sized hero standing up to the unwelcome visitor while the homeowner, safely behind a glass door, attempts to shoo it away.
But the alligator takes no notice.
But then the Beagle approaches and howls at the huge reptile as if demanding it to leave. This time, the alligator took it seriously and quickly turned around and ran back to the lake where it had come from. The woman is heard laughing in the background.

Most took to the comments to question why someone would choose to live so close to a lake that's home to alligators, especially when there's no fence between the lake and the house.
One person said, "This is a nightmare, and they're just laughing", while another suggested, "That gator isn't scared of the dog, it went to the water because it assumed the dog was "loose" and was preparing for an encounter starting with luring the dog to the water."
