Following Donald Trump's re-election victory, a celebratory family photo has raised eyebrows online, not for its attendees, but for who and what was missing.

The picture, shared by daughter Tiffany Trump on X, includes key figures like Elon Musk, but notably absent were Melania Trump and any family pets.

The absence of a dog has revived discussions about Trump's reluctance to keep pets, a notable departure from White House tradition.

Dog-free White House

Since George Washington, almost every US president has had a canine companion.

However, Trump's presidency has been distinctly dog-free, and his apparent aversion to pets seems set to continue.

Despite past attempts to introduce a dog to the Trump family, the former and now returning president has reportedly shown little interest.

Unusual family photo

Online commenters joked about the family dynamic's empty space, noting that even Musk, who stood smiling alongside the Trumps, looked more likely to join the family than a dog.

Speculation persists about Melania's absence from the photo, but she later posted on X expressing gratitude for the American people's support.

For now, it appears that Washington, under Trump, will again be a dog-free zone.
