In a kennel in Romania lived Priscilla, a dog that had only known fear and abuse. But as this video shows, Priscilla’s life would soon transform thanks to the power of love.
Everything changed for Priscilla the day she met Monica Mitreanu. Monica had heard Priscilla’s story and wanted to be the person to give her a loving home. But she had first to win the dog’s trust.
Monica meets Priscilla
As Monica enters Priscilla’s kennel, the dog looks petrified, cowering in the corner. Not deterred, Monica takes a few steps nearer the dog and begins touching her.
Priscilla growls at the woman, urging her to leave her alone. But Monica persists.
Patience and love pay off
Monica crouches down to the same level as the dog and gently strokes its face, talking to her in a soothing voice. Monica puts her face up to Priscilla’s, and as she continues stroking the pup’s face, the dog puts her chin in the woman’s hand.

This moment is transformative for the dog as she realises that there are some humans you can trust. It’s extraordinary to watch. But you know that Priscilla will be in good hands from then on.
