Rollo and Sadie became internet sensations this week after a video of the canines on a FaceTime call went viral. The cute clip racked up 20 million views on TikTok, and many more on the pups' Instagram account.
The dogs' owners, Kayla McTeer and Caitlin Banks, came up with the idea after Caitlin moved to a different city for a new job. The pair were next-door neighbours for two years. Rollo and Sadie became best friends, hitting it off the second they met. It was love at first sniff.
A special kind of friendship
Both owners noticed that their pooches seemed a bit depressed after the move. The breakup was especially sad for Rollo, who had never really had any dog friends before. Or at least none as special as Sadie.
The foursome arranged a monthly meet-up, which was always good fun. But Rollo and Sadie wanted to see more of each other, so their pooch parents decided on a FaceTime call.
The hilarious video shows the two furry besties staring at each other through the computer screens. There's lots of whining and whimpering - it's the doggie way of saying, "I miss you."
Then Sadie lets out a huge howl. It's a special form of communication that she saves for her best friend.
See you next week
"She's not much of a howler," said Kayla McTeer, Sadie's owner. "She doesn't often throw her head back and howl the way she does on FaceTime with Rollo. Actually, that's the only time that she's ever done that."
The FaceTime calls will become a regular thing. Sadie and Rollo will catch up every Thursday night.
