Arafa the rescue dog may be blind, but his love for his number one buddy in the whole world is just as strong.
His name is Ahmed Embaby, and the volunteer worker met Arafa after the pooch turned up at the Furever Rescue centre in Cairo, Egypt.
Love is blind
The pair bonded instantly, and now Arafa rarely leaves Ahmed's side.
And despite being blind, Arafa has no problem finding his best friend at the start of every day.
He just follows the sound of Ahmed's voice. You could say it's Arafa's guiding light in a world of darkness.
Ahmed said: "It never ceases to amaze me the euphoria that Arafa shows when I show up at the Furever Shelter. It just goes to show that a dog's love is unconditional and extraordinarily pure."
Arafa is one of the hundreds of dogs at Furever Rescue. Most are former strays or street dogs. Volunteers help care and socialise the dogs, which are then rehomed with loving families.
Arafa knows he's loved
Unfortunately, special needs dogs like Arafa are often more challenging to rehome. But we're sure it won't be too long before someone falls in love with this beautiful pooch.
In the meantime, Arafa still has a very special friend to keep him company.
