Cats and dogs have an interesting relationship, best known as enemies but in reality, are often best of friends. Just like the pair in this video.

Rottweilers may have a reputation for being a strong and aggressive breed, but the cat in this clip doesn't seem to care.

Feline massage

The clip shared by the animals' owners shows a black and white cat sitting on the back of a large rottweiler. While the dog gives its paws a good clean, its feline sibling is contentedly kneading on its back.

If a cat has ever "made biscuits" on your lap, you'll know that it can be a little uncomfortable at times, especially when they have sharp claws. But it doesn't seem to be bothering the dog. In fact, it happily continues washing itself while having a kitty massage.

Best friends

The pair's owner added the backing track of "You've got a friend in me" from Toy Story and shared the clip online with the caption,

"I can't believe I am posting a cute animal video. But I couldn't resist. This is ridiculous. Either my folk's cat is the bravest animal in the world, or their 140 lb Rottweiler is a big pussy (cat)."

Several people were quick to comment about the misconception surrounding rottweilers, with one posting, "despite the stereotype, Rottweilers are just teddy bears and are honestly one of the most gentle breeds out there". Meanwhile, another person said, "Rotties are smart - I used to own one. This dog knows if he gets along with the cat, he gets free back rubs. And the cat has a buddy that can protect him."

Do your dog, and cat get on like these two?
