Both dogs shared tragic pasts; one had been used for fighting, the other for endless breeding. Their future looked bleak until they met a kind stranger.

Todd and Sally are two adorable Pitbulls rescued from heartbreaking situations.

Sally's entire life consisted of breeding endless litters of puppies, while Todd was used to dog fighting. Both are extremely unhealthy and dangerous, not to mention no life for any dog.

Devastating start to life

Fortunately, after years of being forced to fight other dogs, Todd was finally rescued by an animal rescue shelter and found a temporary foster home with comedian and actress Rebecca Corry as he waited to find a permanent home.

However, the foster placement failed because Rebecca fell in love with Todd and couldn't imagine ever being without him! At last, after everything he had been through, Todd had finally found his very own loving forever home.

When Todd met Sally

When the animal shelter took in Sally, Rebecca was asked to foster the dog until they found her a home. At first, no one was sure how the placement would go as Sally didn't seem comfortable around other dogs. But that all changed when Sally met Todd. The pair had an instant connection and quickly became inseparable.

So, perhaps it's not surprising that Rebecca failed as a foster again. Just like with Todd, Rebecca realised how happy she was to have Sally in her life and how bonded the dog had become with Todd. She knew they had to all stay together.

It's impossible to know whether the two dogs understand that the other has also been through a traumatic experience. Nonetheless, they have both been instrumental in the other's healing. In fact, they are so close Todd and Sally do everything together, whether it's napping, which is a big favourite of both dogs, playing or eating. The pair always have to be together and help the other feel safe.
