A video of a cat performing strange movements, as if it were seeing something we cannot, has taken over the internet.

On Youtube, for example, there are at least 10 versions of it. Most of them are entitled: "Our dog died a few hours before filming this".

The video was shared by user @jameshalfaday on TikTok, where it has more than 8.5 million views. In the video, we can see a ginger cat sitting on his two back paws and lifting its paws up in the air, in a room where no one is supposed to be. It is followed by a cartoon video in which we see a cat which looks a lot like the ginger cat performing the same movements.

The cat talks to his deceased best friend, a little winged dog who tells him that he can see him from beyond the grave. The images have brought tears to the eyes of internet users, as dozens of comments read:

"I'm crying right now, my dog died 3 months ago. I'm writing it here because I can't express my feelings anywhere else", Xitas Ameer commented on Youtube.

"I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best video I've ever seen," says Douglas Heller, also in the comments to the Youtube video.

Codeman22, adds: "I remember after my dog Zoe died, my cat would walk around the house at night meowing very loudly, trying to find Zoe to curl up next to. She did that for three or four months.

Can cats see ghosts?

Cats do not have extrasensory perception (or sixth sense). However, their senses are acute, along with an instinct for constant vigilance and observation.

A cat's sense of smell, hearing, touch and sight are great and thanks to these they can respond quickly to different stimuli. A cat will see or hear things before a human does. In addition, feline paws detect vibrations in the ground and cats’ whiskers can even detect subtle changes in air pressure.
