Have you ever wondered whether a pet was a cat or a dog? No? Well this kind of confusion happens all the time at Yulia Minina’s house.

Yulia Minina purchased Kefir the white Maine Coone kitten two years ago.

Tiny kitten transforms into huge cat

At the time, Kefir was a tiny little thing. But over the years, he’s become an absolute beast.

Kefir now weighs a whopping 12.5 kilos (27.5 pounds)! And he’s not even finished – Maine Coons tend to continue growing until they reach three or four years of age.

A gentle giant

Yulia says guests who come to her home often mistake Kefir for a dog. And once they realise he’s a cat they can’t quite wrap their minds around his size. But despite his intimidating looks, Kefir is actually just a gentle giant. He enjoys getting cuddles from everyone, and especially loves to sleep on top of his human (although Yulia likes this a little less now that he’s mammoth-sized).

We can’t wait to see just how big Kefir will get! Will he be breaking the world record?
