The little black kitten had the most unique ears she'd ever seen.
So she decided to publish a short video of her on reddit. And it instantly went viral.
NOT one of its kind
Why did the video go viral, you might ask? Well simply because the little kitten’s ears are curled back, almost at a 180° angle! It definitely looks out of the ordinary, but it’s actually not for this breed of cat.
Indeed, curled ears are the defining feature of American Curls (hence the name!). This is a naturally occurring genetic trait, so it doesn’t cause any health issues. In fact, thanks to their diverse genetic background, American Curls are one of the healthiest cat breeds in the world.
Horns or ears?
Many reddit users have remarked on how the kitten’s ears resemble little horns. And with her black colouring, she even looks like a little (and very adorable) devil! In fact, they suggested she be named “Lucy”, short for “Lucifer”.
But in the end, the little cutie was named “Salem”, which, we must say, suits her very well. We wouldn’t be surprised if Salem soon became a foster fail!
