A beautiful story unfolds when a kitten and a veteran find comfort in each other.
As reported by People magazine, Peamer was discovered on a US army base in the Middle East. She was found with her entire family, but her mother fled with four of the kittens, leaving Peamer and one sibling behind.
The soldiers on the base decided to rescue the abandoned kittens, taking it in turns to bottle-feed them.
A rescue mission
Sadly, despite the soldiers' best efforts, the other kitten did not survive.
To give Peamer a chance at a new life, the decision was made to place her with Paws of War, a charity that helps military personnel and veterans care for their animals.
After a few weeks, the kitten was flown to the United States. And that's where Anthony Bracchi came into her life.
"We found each other at the exact right moment"
This army veteran had recently lost his wife and wanted to adopt a pet to help him cope with his grief.

When Peamer met Anthony, there was an instant connection.
"After losing my wife and my cat, the house was unbearably quiet," said Bracchi. "Peamer didn't just come into my life; she gave it back to me. I truly believe we found each other at the exact moment we were meant to meet."
