Every evening, she goes for a walk with her humans through the streets of Dublin.
But this lovely routine was turned upside down in an instant when she suddenly started letting out unusual, persistent meows...
Hot on the trail
Intrigued, her owners followed Coco to a tree. There, they discovered a cat hidden amongst the branches. Coco is usually very wary of other cats, but this time, she approached gently. She gave the other cat a soft sniff, as if to check he was okay.
Coco's owners tried to approach the lost cat. He refused any treats but, against all odds, he walked calmly towards their pet carrier and... jumped right inside! Coco stayed by his side throughout the rescue, never taking her eyes off him.
A mystery solved
Coco's owners then took the tomcat to an emergency vet. They found a microchip, but unfortunately, it wasn't registered, which made searching for his family rather difficult. Eventually, Coco's owners managed to find an old missing pet poster. Thanks to this, the cat was reunited with his family, safe and sound.
His owners explained that the cat was a great adventurer who loved slipping out to explore the neighbourhood and make new friends. Since this escapade, he now wears a collar with an ID tag. Well done, Coco, for using your fantastic instincts to help save a lost friend!
