Ivy, a tortoiseshell cat, was rushed to Drakehouse Veterinary Practice in Sheffield after the fall, where she required bandage changes and check-ups every two to three days.
During her recovery, her owner, Emily, syringe-fed her every two hours to ensure she stayed nourished and strong.

Road to recovery
Over several weeks, Ivy steadily regained her strength and is now said to be almost fully recovered. Emily has since fitted protective netting around her balcony to prevent any future accidents and is urging other pet owners in similar situations to do the same.
Dedicated to Ivy's care
She said: “They were a constant help during Ivy’s recovery; it was such a scary time, but the care we received made the whole ordeal a lot easier. I can’t thank the team enough.”
The veterinary practice commended Emily’s dedication to her pet’s recovery and emphasised the importance of taking precautions to keep cats safe in homes with balconies or high windows.
