Spencer and Rocky had a very special relationship. During their ten years as best buds and dog brothers, the pair never spent a single night apart. In fact, they did everything together.
"Rocky and Spencer slept in the same bed, ate from the same bowl, and always walked together when they went out," said proud dog mum Beth Fisher.
Life with Rocky
But, unfortunately, their time together recently came to an end after Rocky developed a cancerous tumor and had to be put down.
At first, Spencer couldn't understand why Rocky hadn't come from the vets. "Spencer was getting up in the night to wander the house looking for his brother," said Beth. "And then he started crying because he couldn't find him."
But as the reality of a life without Rocky set in, so did the grief. Spencer lost all his energy and enthusiasm and was showing clear signs of depression. Spencer needed something to help him cope with the tragic loss, and so his parents came up with the perfect idea.
Together in spirit
They ordered a comfy cushion with Rocky's cute face printed on it! And now Spencer snuggles up to it at every opportunity. "He seems a lot more settled now he's got something to cuddle into," said his mum.
Nothing will ever fill the void in Spencer's giant heart. However, his new pillow means that Rocky is always by his side in spirit.
