Woman walks 13-year-old dog into forest, then does the unthinkable
As animal lovers, most of us can’t imagine ever abandoning a pet but to do so after 13 years of love and companionship seems particularly cruel.

A sad video
Video footage has emerged of an owner abandoning her 13-year-old Golden Retriever.
The heartbreaking footage shows a car roll to a stop. A woman gets out and opens the door for the pup. The Retriever happily trots out with tail wagging, thinking he’s going for a walk.
She walks to the edge of a wooded area as the pup trots by her side obediently. The she turns and runs back to her car before driving away and leaving the pup alone.
A timely rescue
Thankfully, the sad tale doesn’t end there and the dog was picked up by the I Paw’d it Forward and taken into care.
The charity found the owner who admitted she’d abandoned the dog (after telling neighbours he’d died) and will now face prosecution.
A loving home for a deserving pup
The gorgeous boy’s story has been shared on Facebook and we’re sure he’ll find a loving home to live out the remainder of his days with plenty of fuss and treats.
There’s never an excuse to abandon a pet. While times can get hard and it could feel like the only option for some, there are always charities and shelters that can help and abandonment is never the answer.
We wish the gorgeous Golden all the best.
