Gorgeous Speck, thought to be a two-year-old Border Collie Mix, had spent the last year and a half in a shelter.
But, the sweet pup found a novel way to attract attention: begging! But not begging for toys or even treats, all Speck wants is a little bit of love.
A little love goes a long way
A video went viral that showed an adorable Speck poking his paw through the bars of his cage in an attempt to hold the passerby's hand.
The passerby stops and holds Speck's paw as Speck wags his tail and licks his lips happily.
A paw-fect beg
But, when the visitor attempts to leave, Speck manages to squeeze his other paw out through the gap in his cage and holds onto the visitor's arm, still wagging his tail happily to have a little attention.
Thankfully, since the video went viral, Speck has found his new forever home. And, according to reports, it's not just any old forever home but a 26-acre farm with a family and two furry dog brothers!
The even better news is, the video gained attention for the Bullock Country Humane Society and a number of other dogs have been adopted as a result.
A very good boy
Speck's loving ways haven't just helped himself but his fellow shelter pooches too – well done, Speck!
There are so many rescue dogs out there who are looking for their forever home,s so do consider adopting if you're looking to add a furry friend to your household.
