Since then, all the kittens except one have found their forever families...
The only one who hadn't found a family, Echo, was in a critical state of health.
A very poorly cat
Indeed, the poor kitten had an ulcer in one eye and an infection in the other. The shelter staff therefore made the decision to remove both eyes. So when it came to finding a family, the poor moggy had no eyes and a shaved face following his operation.
This didn't "help" Echo find his forever home. Sadly, visitors to the shelter would cast a pitiful glance at him and walk on by. The poor thing was beginning to pine away in his kennel.
Everything changed
Until the day Kay, a young girl visiting the shelter, met Echo. When she approached him, the kitten snuggled into her arms. Somehow, Kay knew straight away that the two were meant for each other.
Kay had to clean Echo's incisions and give him pain medication during his recovery. She also had to help him find his bearings in his new home, particularly going down the stairs or helping him find his water bowl. Kay had the clever idea of setting up a water fountain for him, so he could hear the splashing and find his water. Little by little, Echo gained confidence. Now he runs all over the house and lives a wonderful life, full of love and play!
