Urgent help needed
The person decided to take the kitten to a veterinary clinic for treatment, but nothing went as planned. She rang several emergency vets who told her she would have to pay the veterinary fees before they would treat the kitten.
Unfortunately, the person who had rescued the kitten couldn't afford to pay. She tried several clinics, but none could cover the costs for the kitten.
Last chance?
The person eventually went to a nearby rescue centre, but the experience was dreadful. One of the staff members took the kitten into a back room, then returned and sat down without saying a word. When the person who had rescued the kitten asked if he would be treated, the receptionist told her he was going to be put to sleep.
The kitten's rescuer was horrified by this response. As she explained in her Reddit post: "I feel like I abandoned this little kitten who was hoping I could help him, who looked at me as if I was going to take him somewhere he'd feel better. I'm in tears thinking about this poor little kitten sitting in the back room in a box, suffering and alone. I feel like I've abandoned a baby."
