Never lose hope... That's the lesson to take from this extraordinary story experienced by Dee Eaton, 55.
In 2023, this Kent resident let Marmalade roam outside her home.
Unfortunately, the walk took a dramatic turn when Marmalade didn't return.
Puzzling photos
As Newsweek reports, Dee immediately set out to search for her cat, who wasn't in the habit of straying far from home. She had no luck.
Months and years passed, and the woman thought she'd never see her beloved cat again. However, on 27 September 2025, she received a strange message from someone called Kathleen. She asked if her cat was still missing. "I didn't believe for a second it could be Marmalade".
She replied, giving physical details about her cat. Then suddenly, she discovered photos of a cat that looked like Marmalade.
An emotional reunion
When interviewed, Marmalade's rescuer explained that she spotted "the tomcat whilst going for lunch". It was while researching cats with deformed ears that she discovered the notice about Marmalade.
Dee went to Kathleen's home to see her cat. "I picked him up and hugged him, and he snuggled into me. I couldn't believe I'd finally found him", she said, admitting she shed a few tears during the reunion.
