She was scrolling through Facebook when she stumbled upon a post from a charity asking for help for two cats.

The cats, John and Nina, had been rescued after being abandoned on the streets of Bali, in Indonesia.

Senior cats in need

Both cats were 14 years old. When they arrived at the rescue centre, they had been saved along with other, younger stray cats. While all the younger cats quickly found their forever homes, the same couldn't be said for John and Nina, the senior pair.

So, when Iona discovered the two cats' story, she didn't hesitate for a moment. She knew deep down that she had to help them. She sent a message to the rescue centre to ask if John and Nina were still available and if they could live together. She and her partner wanted to adopt them both.

A flight and a new home

As soon as the rescue centre approved their application to adopt John and Nina, Iona and her husband began preparing for the two cats' arrival. The cats had to take a plane to get to Manchester. Iona and her partner set up a very comfortable and cosy room for them.

While John was immediately curious, Nina needed much more time to adjust. Eventually, seeing how warm her new humans were, Nina finally came out of her shell and decided to trust them. Now, the two senior cats are living out their golden years with their humans, and we couldn't be happier about this wonderful adoption!
