The brave dog was born in Tijuana, Mexico.
Four years ago, Julie decided to become a foster family for Doris.
Paralysed by fear
As it turned out, the fostering arrangement wasn't temporary after all. Julie decided to adopt the dog for life! During her first days at Julie's home, Doris was terrified of walks and simply refused to go outside. Every time Julie brought out the lead or collar, Doris would run and hide somewhere in the house.
The rescue centre that had saved Doris and placed her in foster care suggested an intensive month-long programme to help desensitise the dog to walks. It worked brilliantly! Doris came back happier than ever. She was no longer afraid of the lead, collar or evening walks.
A romantic encounter
Now Doris has learnt that walks can bring lovely surprises just around the corner. This was certainly the case at the beginning of October, when the dog fell head over heels after meeting a Husky during an outing. You can see the dog seems completely smitten and begs for more cuddles from her new friend.
Social media users watched the whole scene below with delight: "*She likes men taller than her? Same, girl, same*" Another commented: "*Tall and blue-eyed, Doris said our puppies would be adorable and beautiful*". What a lovely encounter!
