Erin was just picking up her three children, as she usually did.
Charlie was visible from the nursery window, and there were plenty of people around. As far as Erin was concerned, he was perfectly safe.
A devastating discovery
Usually, when Erin came out of the nursery with her three children, the little dog would be jumping for joy to see them. But on that day, there was no sign of Charlie's usual welcome... he had vanished. The tree where Erin had tied him was empty, with no lead and no trace of the dog.
Erin panicked immediately, asking everyone around if they had seen her dog. The disappearance was reported to the police. CCTV footage showed a person in a dark, hooded coat untying Charlie.
A generous reward
Erin's family offered a $5,000 reward for Charlie's safe return. Two people recognised the dog while he was with his “family” at a supermarket. They then followed the family back to their apartment.
They then alerted the police and sent the location. Thankfully, the story has a happy ending, all thanks to the help of the animal-loving community. The very next day, on 21st February, Charlie was returned home safe and sound. We are so relieved for Charlie and his family.
