Mother dog stops at nothing to save her puppies, leaving onlookers shocked

In times of crisis, a mother's determination knows no bounds. As severe weather caused waters to rise rapidly around a building, one dog didn't hesitate for a second. Despite the strong current, freezing water, and pitch blackness of the narrow cavity, this courageous mum squeezed under the flooded building to find her puppies.

As reported by the website The Dodo, she didn't hesitate for a moment. She reappeared shortly afterwards, firmly but gently holding her first puppy by the scruff of its neck — soaked to the skin, but safe and sound.

But her job was far from over. This devoted mum repeated the daring rescue seven times. With every single trip back under the flooded structure, the anxiety grew among onlookers, who were completely spellbound by the dog's sheer tenacity.

A happy ending for the canine family

Once her entire litter was safely gathered around her, the exhausted mum could finally take a moment to rest, warming and cleaning her little ones.

Thanks to the quick action of local rescuers and volunteers who stepped in to help the little family, the dogs were taken to safety, dried off, and brought to a shelter for veterinary care. Today, all the puppies are out of danger and doing well, and they will be ready for adoption once they are fully weaned.
