Last October, near the small town of Târgu Frumos in Romania, a local woman was walking near her home when she noticed a box that had been left out in the open.
At first, she didn't pay it much mind, as fly-tipping is common in the rural area. But a few days later, after a spell of cold and rainy weather, she passed by the same spot again. This time, a movement caught her eye. Inside the soaking wet box, two tiny little creatures were trying to crawl out.
Two puppies left to the elements
Shocked by what she saw, the woman immediately contacted ROLDA UK, a charity that specialises in rescuing and rehoming Romanian stray dogs.
Volunteers arrived quickly and found two tiny puppies who were freezing cold and very weak. They were warmed up, wrapped in blankets and given some food, and slowly began to regain their strength. Exhausted by their ordeal, they settled down in a safe space, surrounded by gentle, reassuring animals.
Named Letti and Lisette, as reported by The Dodo, the two little ones then received the veterinary care they needed before being transferred to a rescue centre with other rescued dogs.
An unbreakable bond
Over the following weeks, the team noticed that the two puppies were deeply attached to each other. They played together, slept side-by-side, and constantly sought each other out. Separating Letti and Lisette was simply unthinkable.
Fortunately, a family fell in love with them and decided to adopt them together. The two sisters could now start a new life, far from the neglect and the freezing rain. Today, their daily life is filled with safety, stability, and companionship — exactly what they should have had from the very beginning.
