In February 2026, rescuers from the Fur Fun Rescue organisation were contacted to help a stray dog and her puppies.
As reported by The Dodo website, the little family was found under a caravan in a small town in Missouri, USA.
Stacy White was the first to arrive on the scene to make contact with the mum and her babies.
A delicate rescue operation
With the help of an animal control officer, Stacy managed to get close to the family and bring them to safety.
The mother dog, named Frankie, was in good health, as were her little ones. Shortly after the rescue, the puppies were put up for adoption.
One phone call can save a life
It's a story that reminds us that sometimes, a rescue is just a phone call away. "Rescue isn't always about opening the door of a shelter," said Stacy. "Sometimes it's a neighbour stopping to help a dog on the side of the road, someone offering a spare room for a few weeks, or a community coming together to share a post until the animal finds a suitable home."
