Whilst veterinary emergencies are generally stressful for the teams involved, this one had quite a different flavour.

Veterinary professionals know it well: emergencies often signal complex situations that require considerable composure, and the outcome isn't always a happy one.

So, when the Harmonia veterinary clinic in Villiers-Saint-Frédéric, in the Yvelines region of France, received a distress call to see Lily urgently, a little Beagle puppy just a few months old, there was reason to prepare for the worst. Fortunately, the situation was quite different from the usual cases!

An overly intense "encounter" with a cat toy

When she arrived at the clinic, adorable little Lily was looking rather sorry for herself: after studying a cat toy very closely indeed, the little Beagle had got herself completely stuck in several plastic rings.

Clearly not best pleased about wearing these cumbersome collars, she also looked quite embarrassed about her situation. Don't worry, Lily, nobody's cross with you, and you certainly gave the clinic a good laugh as they rushed to help you!

Amused by this unusual "emergency", the clinic team couldn't resist sharing the story of this delightful intervention on social media. Once freed from her predicament without difficulty, the little dog was able to return later for her vaccinations, and the staff at Harmonia clinic were delighted to see her back in fine form!
